Message: Hi Guys - A slightly belated thank you for a wonderful North Island holiday courtesy of Tui Campers, and especially Noah the Sleepervan. . . . Four years since our visit to South Island, but your exceptional service remains - on-line and in person. Despite his considerable road experience, a slight fraying around the edges, and a liking for Castrol GTX, North Island 'Noah' proved to be a great host - taking us to all the places we wanted in comfort, and with all facilities to make every day worthwhile regardless of the weather. Again, we ancient travellers elected to overnight in motels, but the reliability, convenience, superior viewing height and inexpensive rental make this a much better way to tour than hiring a normal car. Here's to your continuing success. Hopefully, we will be back again! From: John & Anne Hutchinson Date: Wed 06/22/11 5:02PM Message: I rented my campervan in Auckland on 3/4, and returned to Christchurch on 3/30, and very comfortable, once I learned how to "give way" on roundabouts, one-lane bridges & re-enter roads from carparks. Instead of driving on the left, I finally discovered I just needed to drive from the middle of the road. I camped at holiday parks every night with such ease, when I wasn't tramping from hut-to-hut. No power needed since the overhead lights are plenty bright, and do not run down the battery. The campgrounds have family rooms, full kitchens, dining areas, computers, hot showers & laundries, so just needed a place to organize my stuff & sleep. Space is at a premium, so had to pack stuff in the nooks & crannies, and sleep with my big bag upright, at the end of the bench. Since I am a backpacker, I never needed to fold out the full bed platform, so enjoyed sitting on the bench, working & eating from the cabinet countertop, and extra foldout top. I just wanted to inform you that we were extremely pleased with your staff in both locations. They were very friendly and extremely helpful. They made the rental process for us very easy and stress free as possible. Please convey this to them as they deserve praise. They are great amba**adors for your company. The small backpacker sleepervan that my wife and I rented worked fantastic. It was a bit small and we would advise others to rent something a bit bigger especially if they are around the 60 yr old mark as we are. It was a bit challenging getting in and out of the bed but we managed fine and dandy. Your van gave us great performance and good gas mileage. Thanks again for the a**istance. Not all companies would go the extra mile to make things easy for their customers. If we know of any folks in our area of Canada that plan on visiting NZ and renting a van we will definitely advise them to rent from you. We're coming over next month to do the Sth Island. Your suggested itineraries are really great... gives us an idea on how to pace ourselves. We'll hire a sleepervan with you and look forward to a superb tour of the Sth Island. We travelled both the South & North Islands for 18 days and it never missed a beat. It was very comfortable and everything we needed was supplied. We arrived in NZ (from Australia) on Xmas night and were wanting to pick the van up on Boxing Day. Most of the other companies we contacted were unable to do this. As we were starting a 3 day trek the day after, we were concerned about getting supplies on the Boxing day, and emailed Sleeper Vans in Christchurch quite frequently leading up to our trip with questions and unusual requests. They were ALWAYS very helpful. The staff in Auckland, where we made our drop off, were equally obliging. Can't wait for our next trip. Seven months after first contacting you & we have just returned to Ta**ie from a magic 24 day, 5000km, South Island Holiday in the company of 'Noah' the Sleepervan. He was a perfect gentleman - went everywhere we asked without a grumble - in all sorts of weather & over all sorts of roads. Easy to drive automatic (for someone with 40+ years of manual driving experience). Very safe on the roads. Great view from the extra height in the van. Very comfortable driving position. Lots of cuppas & snacks in the comfortable rear of the van. Excellent equipment level. Lots of envious admirers as we travelled the island - many from small cars which had been much more expensive to hire - & those with larger vans who couldn't go to all the places we managed. Great service from all the team from our first contact last October to the end of our holiday. Roll on next visit to NZ, when we will contact you again. Many thanks. From: John Hutchinson Date: Sat 05/26/07 8:06PM Message: Hi Team It took a very long time to get home (34 hours door to door) with a 14 hour flight from Singapore and we're only just recovering from jetlag. We were very pleased with our hiring of your Backpacker Sleepervan. It was only about half the price of Britz and the excess of $1,200 was very reasonable compared with Britz $5,000! The van was small, as we expected, but very well designed and very comfortable for driving, sitting and sleeping. It was in good mechanical condition and went very well - we covered over 2,000km in our 16 days, and it started immedaitely every time, even after very cold, wet & windy nigts on the west coast! We were particularly pleased to be picked up from the airport and taken back at the end - we were suprised to be on our way only half an hour after arriving at Christchurch. Plenty of room in the back to make a cuppa while watching the rain, mist and occasional snow shower. We probably would chicken out and book tourist accommodation for sleep overs - but who knows?!?
